Hi! I'm Amanda Alexander PCC, Director of Coaching Mums. Welcome to the blog!
Since founding Coaching Mums in 2003, I've helped thousands of working mums across the World to create a sense of balance, fulfillment and success on their own terms.
Here on the blog, you'll find tonnes of free online coaching tools and tips to help you as a working mum to juggle all the roles you play... without losing the plot!
Eldest child dressed in school uniform? Tick. Coats on ready to go? Tick. Nappy incident that requires the swift removal of coats? Tick. Important work documents for today’s meeting? Tick. Baby sick on shoulder of new work clothes? Tick.
It’s no wonder that working mums need to utilise every single minute , so how valuable would an extra half an hour every day be? Is it really possible for a working mum to claw back an extra half hour each day? Here are 10 ideas for you to try!
I know that your website is targeted towards coaching mums, but I am a happily married young man -with no kids (yet)- and I find all your advice incredibly useful!
Keep up the fantastic work and all the best,
Iain B Simpson

I try to plan/cope using Stephen Covey's 7 habits approach, which is to try to balance your "roles", so mummy, wife, work etc. But I think the main thing, as you are pointing out is that you can only do so much.
I like the 10 project limit, I must just count all mine up, there are more than 10, but something to aspire to!
Enjoy the sunshine.

Perfect timing for this post Amanda! I've always been great at multi-tasking but I think I finally bit off more than I can chew! Your blog post pretty much describes where I'm at right now - overwhelm. The problem is, it can be so hard to get out of it! I'm currently entering a very busy period for one of my businesses, developing a product for another business, buying a house, moving area, selling two other houses, trying to get my son into a new school and planning a wedding which is going to take place on the other side of the world! Oh yes - and I'm a single mum!! I like being busy, but I think I just entered the realms of 'ridiculous'.... will take 30 minutes 'time out' today like you suggest...

BBC online published a story last week following the findings of a study which was conducted ahead of the UK's National
Family Week which takes place next week. And it's really got my goat!
According to the study quoted by the BBC, parents spend on average 49 minutes per day with their children.
The survey says that of 3,000 parents surveyed, 68% cite money as a barrier to spending more time with their family. Read More

When you are working through college or in the early years of your career, your life can feel pressure packed and often a little overwhelming. Fast forward through maternity and you'll have a good idea of what "overwhelming" really feels like, as you try to balance motherhood with your career aspirations. Working mums face an unenviable challenge, as they have to strive for efficiencies in so many aspects of their daily lives. They have to be able to balance their career with what their clients, bosses and fellow workers expect of them along with the considerable challenge of raising a happy family.
